Geography
This county is located in the south central region of Jeollanam-do. It meets Deuknyangman Bay while bordering with Hwasun and Boseong-gun at the highland from the north to the southeas. As five eups and myeons of Anyang, Yongsan, Gwansan, Daedeok and Hoejin are adjoined to the coastline, they are bordering with Goheung and Wando County. Southwestern border in the north is mountainous area bordering with Yeongam and Gangjin-gun. Flat lands are scattered in the basin of Boseonggang River located northeast of Yongbandeul, Busandeul and Handeul plains and basin of Daesohacheon stream flowing to the southern Deaknyangman Bay.
