Cheongwansan Mountain, one of the five major mountains of Honam region, was named after its strange rocks rising in various shapes which look like the crown of an emperor decorated with jewels. This mountain, located at the border between Gwansan-eup and Daedeok-eup, is only about 723m high, but its soaring peaks of rocky mountain add to its magnificence. When you climb up the mountain, the archipelago of the southern sea unravels before you like an oriental painting and the beautiful scenery changes its face every season. The fresh green leaves and red camellia trees in spring and wide silver grass field in autumn are especially beautiful.
